Step into a meaningful opportunity
Volunteering with Uniting AgeWell provides you with a wonderful opportunity to make a difference, connect with like-minded people and thrive.
Read about some of our volunteering opportunities based on what you’ve told us.
Companionship visiting
As a companionship volunteer, you’ll visit an older person to engage in conversation, shared hobbies and more. It’s a wonderful way to connect with a new person, bond over similar interests and make a difference to someone’s day.
Regular phone chats with older people
As a remotely based volunteer, you will assist in facilitating our remote social programs. You may choose to connect one-on-one with an older person on a regular basis through our Telelink program or faciliate one of our Chat-A-Ring group discussions.
Participating in outings and activities
Support the social connections goals of older people in the community through volunteering in one of our local Social Connections Groups. We offer a variety of localised programs from regular lunchtime catch-ups at a nearby cafe to centre-based art classes or tech support groups.
Getting involved in special events or projects
Volunteers make a valuable contribution at our residential care communities by supporting our lifestyle activities. As a volunteer, you may pop in to host our regular events such as trivia or bingo, or you may like to get involved for a special occassion joining in our celebrations and guest performances. Volunteers may also choose to assist in exciting ad-hoc projects.
Community transport
Whether it’s grocery shopping, appointments or outings, transport is essential. Volunteers assist older people in our community to get to their destination and return home safely.
Office administration
Many Uniting AgeWell volunteer opportunities are available behind-the-scenes to support our operations. In some cases, volunteering can even be the first step into a new career pathway.
